How Can You Consign?
You must have an appointment to consign. If you are interested in consigning, please sign up for our newsletter on the home page of our website. Approximately once a month, I go through the store and list items that we need in inventory and issue a notice via that email letting you know what we need. If you have those items, you will then be contacted for an appointment.
Bring in items on non-wire hangers you would like to be considered for consignment. Please make sure your items are presentable on the hangers you bring. It may make the difference between someone buying your item versus the next item. Pants on pants hangers, sets on double hangers. SAVE PLASTIC STORE HANGERS!! These are GREAT for reselling your items. :) If your items are NOT on hangers or in Clear packages (ziploc), they will not be considered. (No items in grocery bags - customers cannot see the items and they do not sell.) Toys must be clean, in great condition and have batteries if required. Blankets must be freshly laundered and neatly folded. Strollers and high chairs must be CLEAN and READY to use. If you offer and present high end quality items, customers will learn your consigner ID and return to seek them out. Trust me, it's happening already!
Please also note, not all items will be selected depending on condition, age and demand for items. Items will be consigned for a period of time. In order to get it sold, if necessary, the price will be reduced during the consignment period. During the appointment, I will discuss with you the pricing strategy. There is a split on the final sales price. If the item doesn't sell, you have the option of returning to the store to pick them up.
If your account balance reaches $50 or more, I will cut a check to you at the end of the month. If it doesn't, the balance will roll into the next month or you can use your balance to purchase other items in the store. You can also cash out at any time under $50. Although you may have to wait a little longer for a check than direct buyout, you will, in the long run, receive more money for your items.
Benefits over "Consign-A-Thons"?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE going to weekend consignment sales. There are benefits, however, to consigning at Buttons & Bows versus consigning at one of the weekend sales.
You have four months to consign at my shop vs. days at a weekend consignment sale.
You also have opportunities to add to your inventory and increase your sales. I will explain this process to you during your first appoinment.
You still have the option, too, if your items do not sell to pick them up at the end of the consignment period.
You can use your account balance to purchase items in the store you may need or want.
You will get personal salesmanship. If someone comes to the store looking for a special item, I can tell them whether or not we have it and where to find it.
Thank You!
